After the surgery, eye patches are banded on your eyelids. Those patches do not obstruct your vision. Cold compress is applied in order to prevent the formation of edema on supraorbital area. Empurpling and swelling may occur on this area despite all the precautions and care but they will fade away starting from the third day after the operation. A few hours after the operation, mild bleeding and leakage may be observed on the patches banded on your eyelids.
Raising your head by putting another pillow under your neck helps the edema reduced. The edema starts fading away on third day of the operation and patches and stitches will be removed within seven or ten days. When the patches are removed, empurpling and swelling may be observed but they can be covered with cosmetic products. The patient should avoid doing compelling physical exercises, visiting tanning booth, sauna or sunbathing for 6 weeks after the surgery.
